For Natasha Wallace leaving campus for the drive home was nerve racking. Knowing that she had to race the wildfire that was closing in on her home it wasn’t her belongings she was most concerned with but rather her dog Bentley. Not having a dog carrier she debated on how to transport her dog safely from the home to the car and to safety. While throwing some belongings into a duffle bag she realized the solution was in hand. She quickly emptied the contents of the bag and placed Bentley, with a little protest as one would imagine, into the bag and quickly got the both of them to safety.
Key Takeaways:
- Natasha Wallace put her seventy pound dog Bentley in a bag to escape a wildfire.
- Wild fires can happen very quickly. If you live near a fire, you must be prepared for emergencies.
- Pets are more important than material possessions. They should be prioritized over things.
“Like many folks living in the devastating path of California’s recent wildfires, Natasha Wallace had just minutes to escape.”
