A shelter in Florida has developed a unique and fun way to separate pets to ensure they are adopted into the right homes. Many people when looking for a dog look at a particular breed rather than the personality of the animal. The problem with this approach is that though it may be the breed one would like to have it may not be the personality match the new owner is looking for. This Florida shelter designed a test to place dogs in different houses (areas) in the shelter based on personality traits observed.
- To help boost adoption rates, a shelter in Florida is sorting dogs into Hogwarts houses
- Once in their house, the animals get a special banner so people walking by instantly know what house they are part of
- The shelter did this to try to have people talk about dogs’ personality instead of their breed
“Wanting people to look at their dogs for who they really are, the shelter came up with a fun (and super nerdy) way to showcase their dogs’ personalities — using Harry Potter.”
