Here is my newest Yorkie puppy design in sterling silver, and I am so excited to show it to you! It has taken me a while to get it just right…
Not only is this one pretty darned detailed, but I worked with a well-known Yorkshire terrier breeder to get the proportions just right. We did a lot of back and forth in my original clay model. I sent her photos as I progressed, and she gave me lots of feedback. We became pretty good friends during the process! I told her I don’t mind constructive criticism, and that’s the truth. When you are trying for a good representation of a breed, it helps to have someone on your side pointing things out, little things, that can make all the difference in the end.
In fact, this is the sort of thing I love. Then I KNOW something is right before I have my caster work on it.
And on this particular design, even my caster had his work cut out!
Because of the shape, getting it to hang perfectly straight was a challenge. He had to do special model work on the back of it. And instead of just ONE hidden bail, this design has TWO.
Now when a chain is slipped through those two hidden loops, it hangs beautifully when worn.
But still…I was on pins and needles for a couple months, working out the details on this design, waiting to see it in person.
And because this design was such a challenge, I wanted you to be one of the first to see it. Tell me what you think!

I really like this, and I’ve never owned a Yorkie. However I do love the breed. You did a wonderful job on making it. You are so very talented.
