I’ll be rolling out my new spring line of jewelry one at a time, as soon as my son can photograph each one and I can get them up on my website. This sterling silver fox jewelry design is the first! It is available in a pendant (shown) charm and pair of earrings.
I only have a few of these new fox designs in stock, so let me know what you think! OR better yet, order one while you can. It will be a while before I have more. Currently I have silver fox earrings, pendants and charms.
Fox on my Property…
I’ve not been lucky enough to see a fox “in person”, but I do find their sign on our property (footprints and scat) and hope one of these days to have a personal meeting.
It’s amazing how many wildlife visitors I do get here. Bear, puma, coyote an assortment of different bunny rabbits. And of course, hundreds of avian visitors, including 3 different hummingbird species. This land is alive and well with critters.
Making Fox Jewelry
Meanwhile, I’ve worked to capture the wily fox’s interesting features, in kind of a “mid-century modern” look.
I grew up in the 1950s and 1960s, and love creating (whenever I can) simple designs that capture the look and feel of an animal without trying to be overly realistic. My current owl designs are a good example of that as well.
Just for the record, I grew up with a free-lance artist mom, whose many best selling Gibson greeting cards used to line the card racks across the USA. It’s possible you received one of her designs sometime, back when actual greeting cards were the popular way to greet! She was a mid-century modern artist, so my love of that period comes naturally.
Her name was Kathryn Hutton, and although she never became famous (greeting cards had no “by line” back then) she later illustrated children’s books where her name did actually appear. Yes, I am proud of my mom for making a living as an artist back when it was kind of tough for anyone, male or female.
And she was definitely an influence in my life. I grew up knowing that being an artist was an actual career path. It’s worked out for me! And I try to pass that reality onto my grand kids. And anyone else who feels like listening to me! We need more artists.
More to come…
Since January, I’ve designed about 20 brand new jewelry pieces. They will be appearing as I receive them back from my casters and painters, but it will take a while till they all appear on my website. Meanwhile…I’m making even more! The creation bug has bit me hard, and I’ve not slowed down a bit.
Tell me what you think of this new one, and watch for more appearing soon!

We see grey foxes in our yard, here in Austin, where we met you & revisited annually at the city’s Armadillo Bazaar. We also see deer, raccoons, possums, coyotes, skunks, various snakes and, of course, armadillos frequent our yard. This weekend produced our first feral hog sighting, which was a bit frightening. We’re not sure that we’re ready for feral hog jewelry!
Merry says
Haha! I’d be a little alarmed by a feral hog as well! Best wishes to you and Diana, Dallas… I miss seeing you at the yearly bazaar. – Merry

You didn’t mention Mom’s Miro inspired top, embroidered by you!

So true! I didn’t mention it…seemed like it would be non-sequitur. But I’m glad you noticed it, Sis!
