We have some dear yet strange friends (Pat & Suzanne)
who make a living making monsters at The Bungled Jungle. It may be a good thing we only see them once
a year in Texas at the Armadillo
Christmas Bazaar, because when we’re all together our natural eccentricities become
dangerously intensified.
Here are a few samples of their work, carefully placed in
menacing positions just above the unwary. These are live shots from their booth
in Austin, Texas – December 2007.
A few years back a toy stuffed poodle was mysteriously found hung
“to death” in their booth, and another year “lawsuits” were flying between The
Magic Zoo and The Bungled Jungle via handwritten messages in made-up legalese.
This year our booths were clear across the Convention Center from each other,
so relative calm prevailed.
Ed and I have our own private collection of these beasts;
they seem to behave in our studio, but I’ve always suspected them of
telepathically reporting our activities back to Pat and Suzanne. Especially
unnerving is that hanging eyeball near Ed’s computer.
It’s rumored that The Bungled Jungle has a retail shop in Salida,
Colorado, so do be careful when driving
through that state. Below is one of Suzanne’s favorite musicians, Ponty Bone, tearing it up on the music stage at the Armadillo.
