Happy New Year! We are off to a flying jumping leap here at the Magic Zoo.
I’m working on some new designs- today I finished the model for a sterling silver butterfly. I can’t wait til it’s cast! I really love my job-I pluck ideas from my universe, mold them with my hands then watch as they emerge in gleaming sterling silver, gold and (coming soon) something brand-new with lots of color. (It’ll be a surprise – making a debut appearance with our remodeled website.)
I wish a creative year for all my customers and friends in 2007. In my opinion there’s nothing that quite equals the joy of creating things. Now HERE’S a New Year’s Resolution ! Instead of the same old boring “I’m gonna lose 10 pounds”- how about learning a craft, painting a picture, creating a recipe book? Then at the end of 2007- you’ll have something beautiful left in the wake of your year. I believe we’re all artists at heart-sometimes it just takes a little digging to find your own best expression of it.
I’d like to recommend a little book that increased my own joy of creating. The name is “If You Want To Write” by Brenda Ueland. On the cover it says “A book about art, independence and spirit”-and that it certainly is. AND I want to say with emphasis that it is not just a book for aspiring writers. It is a real jewel and may help you find your own voice of creativity-whatever it may sound (or look) like.
