Whiz Bang the Wonder Dog was dreamed up a few years back as a way to communicate to my customers on a weekly basis. It was also a way to hone my closet comedic impulses. I had fun with it, and many of my customers enjoyed their weekly edition of Whiz Bang’s latest shenanigans.
But there are constrictions to posting something like a serial comic on a blog, the most obvious being that the latest edition will make no sense unless my readers feel inclined to scroll to the beginning. That’s a lot to ask of busy people!
The other problem is that a blog post is generally about content. So instead of having the panels speak for themselves, I was obligated to enter explanations and links to the bottom of each post. It wasn’t much fun.
But my husband, who is quite possibly the biggest fan of my Whiz Bang comics, felt they should be seen somewhere at least.
Putting them on Pinterest seemed like an elegant solution. I can post them at my leisure, they can be seen by whoever feels she or he has the time to indulge in a bit of silliness, and best of all, if they become popular, I can extend the series.
After all, Berkley Breathed rejuvenated Bloom County from where it left off 25 years ago. Why not Whiz Bang the Wonder Dog after just a few short years?
So if you’ve been following along with the Whiz Bang blog panels and feel like you’ve been left dangling on the edge of the proverbial cliff, all you have to do is follow this link to my pinterest board, I’ll eventually get all my Whiz Bang the Wonder Dog panels up there, so keep checking back on pinterest!
