Pendants to Keep Forever
Where do I get my ideas for a completely unique pendant? Well, this is one of those questions I have some trouble answering.
Maybe they just appear as if by magic. It does seem that way sometimes. Basically, I think all of us have a little magic in us, and some of us just make more use of it!
Does the earring inspire the pendant, or the other way around? Hard to say! They just go round and round. Sometimes the idea for the necklace comes before the earrings and sometimes it’s the other way.
Charm or Pendant?
It’s funny, but pendant and charm are 2 words that are absolutely used to describe the same thing. Yes, it can get downright confusing!
When a customer calls to order something over the phone, we have learned to make sure when they say pendant they mean pendant, and not charm! And the other way around as well.
Is it Hard to Think Up Ideas?
It’s more like how do I STOP thinking of ideas? I think a lot of creative people are like this. I do manage to sleep at night, so I guess I’ve figured out how to turn off the creative juice to get a little shut eye.
But if you want me to do calculus or geometry (or even a little plain old fashioned math) I might have to defer to another. Yes, those subjects are best left to those who enjoy (and are good at) those sorts of things.
What Else do you Like to Do?
Of course I love to make jewelry. But I also love to write, draw and sing. And of course there are my comics. This is how I am able to insert a little humor into my life, and poke fun at things when they get too serious. You can sign up on my email list and get my weekly cartoon sent to your inbox, if you like!
I never planned to continue drawing them for so long, but now I have actual fans and can’t quit!
I imagine I’ll be making jewelry in some form of other for the rest of my days, at least in this particular lifetime. But I will do more of those other things as well.
What is your Creative Outlet?
Listen, I know you are creative. So go ahead and let it out! You probably do one of the following:
• Dance
• Write poems to your spouse or your children
• Sketch your cat in a funny pose
• Make up funny stories for the grandkids
• Cook
• Etc.
I have never been able to accept the idea that some people just aren’t creative. More likely you just have some of that creative energy bottled up inside, and need to let it out!
How about it? Tell me what you’ve done recently that had some creative energy behind it. I really want to know, and I think it is darned important, too!
