In Michigan a favorite hot dog restaurant for many was reduced to ashes from a fire. The death of the place was a loss for locals who enjoyed it for years. When the fires were put out and smoke cleared there was word of a kitten that had been living in the place. Amongst the ash and with help from Carol’s Ferals the kitten was captured in a live trap and rescued from the debris. Smokey as the cat was later named is now in loving hands and the Corner Bar is back up and selling its favorite franks.
Key Takeaways:
- Smokey the cat was rescued from a burnt down restaurant in western Michigan on August 14th.

- Smokey the cat is very small. It was only the size of a chili hot dog.
“A small kitten, no larger than a chili dog, was rescued from the remains of the Corner Bar by restaurant staff who heard cats had been making a home in the building.”
