So…you have a sister, mother, friend, wife or sweetheart who needs an animal lover’s holiday gift? I have an idea for you! Maybe I’m prejudiced, but I’ve seen with my own eyes how animal jewelry can absolutely make a holiday even more special. And for me, this is a very special time of year. As I send off all those yorkie charms, pig pendants, llama necklaces, etc. etc. I get to contemplate Christmas morning, with a few thousand people worldwide opening up their Magic Zoo gifts. It’s one of those things that just kind of fulls up my heart as an artist. And really makes what I do for a living so worthwhile.
Even if the person you are contemplating a gift for has affinity for a less common animal…say a ferret or a flamingo, I have designs that you might find intriguing. And if all else fails (say she loves an aardvark, hyena or vulture) you can order a custom, one of a kind design. Just don’t wait too long on those. They do take a bit of time to get them done and to to you for holiday gift giving.
I’m always open to new design ideas from my customers. My normal designing time is in the early spring, but I try to fit things in around the year as well. Despite the fact that creating new work is the very best part of my business, I have to plan ahead so I have some time carved out to work. But there is nothing in the world (to me, anyway) as fascinating as watching a new critter emerge from a lump of clay. And once my model has been cast, I feel like a kid, just waiting to see how the new pieces turn out. (My casters are in New England, so there is always a bit of a delay on getting the finished pieces back.)
But now is the time to order your animal lover’s holiday gift, and I hope you can find something that she just can’t do without.
