Is a pug dog high on your list of cute dog breeds?
I personally think they are wonderful little characters, and would love to hear some puggy stories from any of my readers! Come on, help me out!
I’ve done my part as an artist.I’ve designed a pug dog for every mood, and tried to make one to suit anyone. In my line right now are sterling silver pugs, gold pugs, pewter pugs and even black pugs and fawn and black pugs.
I can get to feeling guilty by making more of some breeds, while other breeds I just never get around to creating. I’m especially guilty of this when it comes to dachshunds and pugs. I think both of these breeds are kind of like peanuts; you can’t make just one!
How I Get Inspired to make Dog Jewelry
Yes, it does take some inspiration. For me to create a dog, it has to have something about it I find fascinating, handsome or just intriguing in some other way. A pug dog is kind of all of the above. Of course with a giant dash of cute thrown in. Those pushed in noses! Those big warm eyes! And the wrinkles are to die for.
But most important, their loyal and sweet nature is an intangible I try to capture as well. A pug dog is, I hear, one of the most loyal and protective of all breeds.
Can a pug take this to an extreme, by following you from the breakfast table to the laundry room to the back yard to the bathroom? Yes, there is that. But it seems a small price to pay! (easy for me to say, since I don’t have one in my vicinity)
And can pugs be stubborn? Yes there is that. But there’s nothing like a dog with his own mind. Much, much better than a dog that just does whatever you demand of him. Spunk! (Again, easy for me to say)
But the shedding could be a deal breaker. I’ve heard that for being such a short coated dog, they can really shed a lot. True or false? Or true in Florida and false in Canada, perhaps.
Here are some good things about a pug dog:
* He’s little, but powerful. In other words, you don’t have to worry about sitting on him and breaking his back! * He has glorious, sweet and thoughtful eyes. (yes, a definite plus point)
* Very easy to brush and keep him looking dapper
* Super gentle. personality. The pug dog is respectful of other pets and also people.
* Doesn’t requre a lot of running around, so makes a great apartment or small house pet.
* Since he spends most of the day sleeping, you don’t have to worry about coming home to a disaster created by a bored dog.
I’ll probably never have an actual pug, but beleive me, I will continue to entertain all pug owners with my pug jewelry. That’s the best I can do!
