Lauren Mesaros is a nurse who lives in California. She owns three horses. When the wildfires struck, she had to evacuate immediately. Her friend Carol Spear had a trailer, but she could only take two of the horses. So Mesaros took the third horse, a miniature named Stardust, in her Honda Accord.
All three horses made it to safety; they are currently living at Windhorse Ranch in Sebastapol.
