Yes, dachshunds are one of the cutest dog breeds around! Because I have such a large variety of them in my store, many people think I have one as a pet.
No I don’t, but that didn’t keep me from designing the enamel frisky black and tan dachshund earrings. And I didn’t stop there. Just so I have something for everyone who has this particular version of the dachshund, I made a distinguished dachshund pin in black and tan, a pair of little dachshund studs in this color variation, and last but not least, a very reasonably priced black dachshund necklace with tan highlights. All the enamel pieces are hand painted in epoxy enamel that is as durable as it is beautiful.
I often wonder why there are so many dogs with this marking of black body with just a touch of tan above the eyes and on the cheeks and feet. It would be interesting to trace that back sometime. Dogs as diverse as the Doberman, Rottweiler and miniature pinscher as well as the dachshund seem to be endowed with them.
I’m not prejudiced in favor of the black dachshunds. You should see my big variety of red dachshund jewelry as well. The red doxie pin, the matching red dachshund earrings, the little dachshund post earrings and a red dachshund necklace are all in my store. The color on these is scrumptious- very rich and textured. It’s hard to believe they were all hand painted.
Did I stop there? Oh no, I didn’t even start there! Before I created my multi-hued enamel jewelry I had a whole series of sterling silver dachshunds. My jumping sterling dachshund pendant is awfully cute, even though I know they’re not supposed to sit up and beg like that.
I really did get to going on this particular dog breed and couldn’t seem to stop. You know how it is when you “can’t eat just one…” Well, I couldn’t seem to design just one. And now I have some long-haired dachshund jewelry as well – not an easy thing to create but pretty darn effective in sterling silver and gold.
And there’s more! One of my all time favorites is the smooth coated .925 dachshund pin.
This one came out so well I made a long haired doxie pin to go with the other long haired pieces.
And before I forget, there’s another metal I’ve made these little fellows in- pewter. You have to see my lead-free pewter dachshund pin which is a great alternative for sterling silver lovers who are on a budget. It’s not exactly the same as the silver one, but it has a similar look to it. The matching pewter dachshund earrings are pretty and lightweight.
And despite the fact that I have more dachshund varieties than I do any other design in my entire store, I still have customers who ask me “Do you have any other dachshund jewelry”. Sometimes you just can’t win!
